Plants have the capacity to fix CO2 through photosynthesis. To reveal photosynthetic processes of Quercus acutissima Carruth. and variabilis Bl., their net rates were quantified during early peak growing seasons. evaluate forest efficiencies, light response curves Q. fitted by rectangular hyperbola model (RHM), non-rectangular (NHM), modified (Ye model). The results revealed following: (1) All daily variation rate, stomatal conductivity, transpiration rate single-peaked. times variabilis’ appeared at 12:00 am season 10:00 season. (2) capacities both seasons higher than (3) was found be positively correlated with photosynthetically active radiation, it negatively intercellular concentration. (4) Ye provided best fit for when compared nonrectangular models. performance superior that variabilis; thus, can employed as a priority tree species in carbon sink forests.
